NAWAN, MIS. OR., PH | On June 20, 2024, eTanom took a significant step forward in supporting reforestation efforts by distributing 10 smartphones to our dedicated tree planters in Brgy. Mapulog, Naawan, Misamis Oriental. This initiative is a key part of our ongoing mission to enhance reforestation and improve the connectivity of our field team. The smartphones were made available through the Forest Impact Accelerator, supported by  The Spark Project, Talarak Foundation, and  Forest Foundation Philippines.

Enhancing Connectivity and Efficiency

Providing smartphones to our tree planters is more than just a technological upgrade. This advancement represents a major leap forward for eTanom. The smartphones will facilitate the integration of our planters into our web platform, which is still in development. This new capability will allow our planters to become alpha testers, providing us with crucial feedback to fine-tune and improve our software.

In addition, these smartphones will significantly improve our ability to communicate with the planters. With enhanced connectivity, we can include them in our online group chats, which will lead to better coordination and support. This improved communication will not only streamline our operations but also foster a stronger sense of community among our team members. Better connectivity ensures that our team can work more efficiently and effectively, ultimately advancing our reforestation goals.

Looking Ahead

As we look to the future, we are excited about the upcoming planting of 135 trees from our Earth Day School Fair 2024 event, which took place last April. Our goal is to have these trees planted in time for the rainy season this July. This effort is a crucial part of our mission to create a greener and more sustainable future for all. By continuing to support and enhance our reforestation projects, we are contributing to environmental conservation and community development.
